Hello everyone! So Im on campus right now, using an Italian keyboard, so I apologize for any punctuation errors. Classes started last week, which I completely forgot I was here for. I managed to only have class Monday through Thursday! So far that has been working out gloriously. Im taking five courses. The first is History of Ancient Rome and Italy which should be really interesting, but the teacher is kind of a bore and hard to pay attention to at 9am. This class should coincide with my onsite Art History class called Ancient Rome and its Monuments, where we meet at a different site around Rome each week. Im also taking a Survey to Renaissance Art which has a mandatory field trip to Florence in 3 weeks. Half of the weeks we will meet onsite and half will be in a classroom. In addition, Im taking advanced Photography so hopefully Ill have some awesome photos to show you. Im working both with Traditional 35mm film development and digital which should be cool. My last class is of course Italian...you cant really be in Italy without studying Italian.

Last week, I went to mass at the Vatican on Sunday. We went to St. Peters Square and heard the Pope speak, and from the angle I was at I was able to see his arm! I have a picture of it, but since I am at school I will have to post later. Mass at the Vatican was an awesome experience, but I was surprised at how small it was and how short...30 mins in and out, no more than 50 people! Just as the Martzes like it.

I spent this past weekend in Barcelona! Check back in the next few days for an update on that.

I must run to class...3 hours of Art History in a classroom. We shall see how this goes.

Baci Baci,
Caitlin

I so wish I could take the art history class with you. Do you even have a clue how fortunate you are???? So when should Rickey and I come over???? I'm packing mentally. I just have to find a place for the girls to hang so we can be free to travel to Rome! For those of you reading this, any takers on the kids? Please email me! HAHAHA!

Big hug,
Aunt Carla
